Taksang Monastery, Kingdom of Bhutan. Wonders of the World Series # 6
Taksang Monastery is a Budist scrared site and temple complex built around the entrance of the ‘Taksang senge sandup cave.The cave is located on the face of a steep cliff at an elevation of 10,240 feet. The Temple was built in 1692. As per the legend Paamasam Bhawa (Guru Rinpoche) flew to this place from Tibet on the back of a tigress, hence this place is also known as the ‘Tigers Nest’.
